The Gourmet Century will be traveling to North Carolina for our second time to experience the pristine roads of the Appalachian foothills. Starting and finishing at Taylor Ranch right outside of Asheville, we have created a picturesque yet challenging route near Lake Lure that is sure to impress.
Chefs Robert Mcspadden and Chris DiMinno of Chris King are being joined by a number of North Carolina chefs to create a menu to truly showcase the summer offerings of the South Atlantic.
WHAT TO BRING
We recommend that riders bring a capable road or touring bike. The route will have many climbing sections where a wide selection of gears will be helpful. Bring your essential riding gear; shoes, helmet, shorts, etc. The weather will be warm and comfortable but bring along a windbreaker, a light jacket or some arm warmers just in case. Be sure to check the most up to date forecast before packing for the event. Sunglasses and sunscreen are highly recommended. We recommend that you ride with at least two full water bottles or a full hydration pack and bring the necessary materials needed for common ride mechanicals. Riders should bring a change of clothes for dinner so you can be comfortable and casual during your meal. Onsite showers will be not be available.
